- Orthocell achieved record monthly US sales of its flagship nerve repair product Remplir in October
- There were 92 units sold in October representing an 84% increase on average monthly sales of 50 units during Q1 FY27
- Orthocell said the result reflects a range of factors including growing surgeon adoption and expanded hospital access across key US markets
Special Report: Orthocell has recorded its strongest month of US sales for its flagship nerve repair product Remplir since launch, with 92 units sold in October generating A$279,000 in revenue.
The result represents an 84% increase on average monthly sales of 50 units during Q1 FY27, as Orthocell (ASX:OCC) gains traction in the US market.
OCC said the October performance reflected growing surgeon adoption, increased repeat use, a broader base of actively selling distributor representatives and expanded hospital access across key US markets.
Remplir is a collagen-based nerve wrap designed to support peripheral nerve repair surgery. It received FDA 510(k) clearance in April 2025 and is now approved in seven countries, with EU and UK approvals expected by late 2026.
Since Remplir’s US approval, OCC has noted that commercialisation of innovative medical technologies is a gradual process.
The company said adoption increases as surgeons become more familiar with new treatment options and hospital access expands through Value Assessment Committee (VAC) approvals.
‘Gaining traction in the US market’
CEO Paul Anderson said the October result marked an important milestone in Orthocell’s US commercialisation, with groundwork laid over the past 12 months translating into tangible revenue.
“The improvement in key commercial indicators demonstrates that Remplir is gaining traction in the US market,” he said.
“While establishing a new medical technology in a large market takes time and sustained effort, our focus remains on accelerating surgeon adoption, expanding hospital access and increasing product utilisation.”
OCC is focused on expanding its surgeon and distributor networks and growing Remplir utilisation across approved markets.
The company is also expanding manufacturing capacity in anticipation of increased demand.
Chairman John Van Der Wielen said the board was encouraged by the October sales result and progress achieved in US commercialisation.
“Orthocell has invested in the commercial infrastructure required to support Remplir’s expansion and is continuing to expand its manufacturing capacity in anticipation of increased demand,” he said.
“The board remains confident in the product’s significant U.S. market potential and the company’s strategy to translate growing market adoption into long-term commercial success.”
